Ne-Yo, an American pop and R&B singer–songwriter, record producer, actor, and occasional rapper, is not only a fan of Michael Jackson, but wants to be “one of of the first” to see Michael Jackson’s upcoming film “This Is It.”
Ne-Yo is a Huge Fan of Michael Jackson
Three days after the death of Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo performed a cover of “She’s Out of My Life” at the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards as a tribute to the recently departed Michael Jackson. Following the first performance, Ne-Yo performed yet again, this time alongside Jamie Foxx to a rendition of “I’ll Be There.”
“I love you and I miss you,” Ne-Yo declared during the BET Awards, citing Michael Jackson as his artistic inspiration.
Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”
On October 28th, less than 2 weeks from now, Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” will hit theatres, a documentary which features behind-the-scenes footage of Michael Jackson rehearsing for his series of comeback concerts at London’s O2 arena.
Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” will be available in theatres for a limited two week run.
Ne-Yo is Looking Forward to Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”
During a recent interview with MTV News, Ne-Yo said that he is eager to check out Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” on opening night.
“All I’ve seen is what they’ve shown on TV — the little trailer, that’s all I’ve seen,” Ne-Yo said about Michael Jackson’s “This Is It.” “But I’m definitely looking forward to being one of the first in a theater somewhere to check that out.”
Ne-Yo went on to explain that Michael Jackson not only provided him with his original musical guidance, but that Michael Jackson remains to be the the artistic ideal that Ne-Yo strives to achieve. “I’ve said on numerous occasions that Michael Jackson is half the reason I even sing,” Ne-Yo said. “I’ve talked about how I learned to sing listening to [Michael Jackson] and Stevie Wonder and people of that nature. He’s still an inspiration to me. I aspire to be what he was, as far as musically, as far as philanthropy and you name it, Michael Jackson was cream of the crop and I’m just trying to follow in his footsteps.”
