Collaborators on Michael Jackson’s upcoming film “This Is It” claim that they were unaware of his prescription drug addiction
Michael Jackson, the legendary performer who allegedly had a prescription drug addiction and recently died from an overdose of Propofol, administered intravenously by Dr. Conrad Murray, whose girlfriend recently testified before a grand jury, spent four months rehearsing for his series of comeback concerts at London’s O2 arena.
However, despite spending day and night with Michael Jackson for a third of the year, “This Is It” collaborators were oblivious to Michael Jackson’s addicition to prescription drugs.
“This Is It” Collaborators Comment on Michael Jackson’s Prescription Drug Addiction
“Michael Jackson would come in and say, ‘I didn’t sleep last night.’ But then we’d be on set and you’d see he had his A game, so you didn’t really question it,” choreographer Travis Payne tells MTV about Michael Jackson’s prescription drug addiction.
Kenny Ortega, who directed the “High School Musical” movies and recently appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, added, “Honestly, we were clueless [about Michael Jackson's prescription drug addiction].”
“I was in awe of his talent, but at the same time I pitied him, because I felt his life was so unfulfilled,” says Randy Phillips, president of AEG Live, the company that is behind the “This Is It” Michael Jackson documentary, which opens October 28th for a limited two week engagement.
Michael Jackson’s Prescription Drug Addiction
Millions of Michael Jackson fans around the world are baffled, if not angered, by how collaborators on Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” could have failed to notice, and seek help for, Michael Jackson’s prescription drug addiction.
“I knew Michael Jackson led a very lonely life at times, just because of the nature of who he was. But I choose to focus on the fact that now Michael is not suffering,” choreographer Travis Payne says. “Now he doesn’t have this daily struggle he had to be who he was. And the world is going to have his music and his art forever.”
