Custody Battle Over Michael Jackson’s Kids
Last Friday, a hearing was held to check on the welfare of Michael Jackson’s kids. The judge overseeing custody matters, L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff, declared Michael Jackson’s kids to be “really doing wonderfully with the grandmother as the guardian.”
L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff granted Katherine Jackson permanent custody of Michael Jackson’s kids, including Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), in August. Initially, it appeared that Debbie Rowe, biological mom of Paris and the other Prince, was going to contest the judge’s ruling and seek a more substantial role in the lives of Michael Jackson’s kids. However, Debbie Rowe agreed to visitation rights and has not caused problems since..
Attorneys for Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe were in court last Friday to hear the judge’s decision regarding Michael Jackson’s kids.
“It was an excellent report [regarding Michael Jackon's kids],” L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said of the status report he received. “I am not inclined to set another date” on the guardianship matter.”
Administrative Powers of Michael Jackson’s Estate
L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff also extended administrative powers over Michael Jackson’s estate to executors John McClane and John Branca until at least January 4, 2010, which allows them to accept or reject creditors’ claims against the estate.
Katherine Jackson has objected to Branca and McClane’s status as administrators, and another hearing is set for November 10 to discuss whether there should be a trial.
