AllGood Entertainment is demanding upwards of $300 million from the Michael Jackson Estate
AllGood Entertainment, Inc., a promoter of live concert events, has filed yet another suit against the Michael Jackson Estate, demanding part of the profits from Michael Jackson’s upcoming movie “This Is It,” along with revenues from the Sony catalog.
AllGood Entertainment is demanding over $300 million.
AllGood Entertainment and Previous Litigation involving Michael Jackson
In June 2009, AllGood Entertainment sued Michael Jackson for $40 million, claiming that Michael Jackson, through his manager Frank DiLeo, had agreed to create a single and a $30 million reunion concert with The Jackson 5, as well as sister Janet Jackson.
According to AllGood Entertainment, the alleged contractual agreement prevented Michael Jackson from performing elsewhere before the reunion concert and for a three month period afterwards.
Therefore, Michael Jackson allegedly breached the AllGood Entertainment contract by agreeing to a 50 date residency at The O2 arena. The filing company stated that AEG Live knew of the alleged agreement with Michael Jackson and used their dominance in the industry to coerce Michael Jackson into agreeing to the residency.
AllGood Entertainment’s Amended Suit Against Michael Jackson Estate
In spite of the fact that AllGood Entertainment’s previous suit demanded $40 million, the concert promoter is now seeking a cool $300 million.
AllGood Entertainment recently filed an amended lawsuit in federal court, which now includes the Michael Jackson Estate. The original defendants are still named in the amended suit.
AllGood Entertainment claims that its demands have increased more than seven fold, swelling from $40 to $300 million, because the concert promoter never anticipated that Michael Jackson would die and that a movie would be made, which now ups the ante.
AllGood Entertainment is also suing John Branca and John McClain, co-special administrators of the Michael Jackson Estate.
